History of TMCInternational

In 1989, after conducting a 10-month Feasibility Study, Christa March began serving teen moms and their children through her home church in Arlington Heights, Illinois.  The program was called Teen Mother Choices.   Teen Mother Choices served young moms between the ages of 13-23 years and used the volunteer and financial support of Christa's home church and surrounding churches to serve teen moms through:

• Weekly Lifeskills Workshops ™
• Individual Mentors who came alongside each of the young mothers
• An effective process of setting goals with teen moms
• Offering financial assistance for childcare so the teen moms could finish high school or attend college or work.

In 1996, and then again in 2006 two additional Teen Mother Choices Programs began serving teen moms in other communities in northern Illinois.

In 2007, using the successful Teen Mother Choices Program, which had by now served over 400 teen mothers, a new not for profit organization was created, Teen Mother Choices International (TMCInternational).

TMCInternational is a training and consulting ministry with the purpose of equipping churches, existing organizations and individuals who desire to develop a Teen Mother Choices Program in their communities. TMCInternational provides those interested in starting a Teen Mother Choices Program with a comprehensive training program beginning at the research stages (a Feasibility Study) to fully implementing a complete program for teen moms and their children.

Through the convenience of technology, all of the training materials are now online and TMCInternational uses these materials along with phone and email consultations with its trainees to develop programs in the United States and Canada.

Trainees become TMCInternational Licensees, once they've completed all the TMCInternational Training Process, incorporate all the principles of the program and having the benefit of ongoing communication with the organization for ongoing support.
